Dr. Noel Akpata, a national transformation leader, speaks to the press from Abuja about driving a groundbreaking initiative to establish Bloomberg Financial Markets Labs in universities across Nigeria.
This pioneering project, launched in the last quarter of 2024, to be piloted at the Dangote Business School, Bayero University, Kano, brings together an unprecedented coalition of institutions, including the prestigious, Multi Billion Dollar worth Bloomberg Group/Bloomberg Education, Dangote Business School, Bayero University, The Dangote Group, the Federal Ministry of Education, and the Central Bank of Nigeria.
As the architect and driver of this multi-institutional synergy, Dr. Akpata shares his vision for Nigeria’s transformation and the driving force behind his passion.
“I want to see Nigeria succeed in my time alive, we have to activate a new generation of change drivers from within our population who understand how to initiate and drive transformation with scarce resources” he emphasizes.
“This initiative is a crucial step amongst many, towards achieving that goal. By bridging the gap between academia and industry, we can empower the next generation of leaders with the skills and knowledge necessary to drive economic growth and national development.”
The Bloomberg Financial Markets Lab project is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in global financial markets, data analysis, and economic research.
This private sector-funded project demonstrates the power of collaboration between government, academia, and industry in driving national transformation.
Quality leadership in an initiative like this is a necessary requirement towards Nigeria’s growth and development.
Speaking at the Project Launch in Abuja, key stakeholders representing various institutions involved commended Dr Akpata’s passion for national competitive repositioning which they described as “contagious”, and is set to inspire a new generation of leaders in shaping a brighter future for Nigeria.
